Dos Santos to start against England
05/06/2006: Paraguay star player Julio Dos Santos looks set to play his country's opening World Cup clash against England after impressing in a warm-up run out against a Bavarian select team on Monday.
The German-based striker scored one goal and had a hand in the other two playing in his favoured central position up front.
Normally deployed as a left-sided midfielder, the Bayern Munich player relished his new role as a secongd striker.
"I'm very happy because I played very well in that match even though it was only a friendly," said Dos Santos.
"When I was playing on the left side of midfield I didn't think I played well enough to be considered as a starter for the World Cup.
"But playing as a forward, where I've played since my professional debut, I'm very confident. I think people saw what I could do there in my performance last Saturday."
