De Rossi has Friday D Day

19/06/2006: Daniele De Rossi should find out by Friday how many games he will miss for his blatant elbow on United States striker Brian McBride

FIFA's disciplinary committee are set to study the Italy vs USA match in which Roma midfielder De Rossi was shown a red card after his elbow left the Fulham man covered in blood.

McBride needed three stitches before he was able to return to the match which finished in a 1-1 draw.

De Rossi will miss Thursday's clash against the Czech Republic and faces being banned for an additional three games.

"I have left De Rossi to boil in his own soup," said Lippi. "He is a fantastic guy, but he must change his computer chip."

Lippi will speak to De Rossi on Monday about the incident.

USA's Eddie Pope and Pablo Mastroeni were red-carded in separate incidents and will miss their match against Ghana on Wednesday afternoon.
