DaMarcus Beasley
08/06/2006: During the USA's great performance at the last World Cup that was held in Japan and Korea, a crop of talented players emerged.
One of those was the classy forward DaMarcus Beasley, who impressed many people with his pace.
He also has a real knack for finding the net, as he finished as the USA's joint top goal scorer during their qualification campaign with seven goals.
Damarcus became the youngest player ever to sign a professional contract in the US when he did so at the age of 16. He first showed his potential while playing for Chicago Fire, but it was the 2002 World Cup that really saw his stock rise.
He eventually secured a move to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, where he has played well and experienced football's top competition, the Champions League.
Beasley will have to overcome recent rumblings over a lack of form if he is to be sure to start for the USA in their first crunch match with the highly rated Czech Republic.
