Coach expects tough battle

18/06/2006: Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira was warned his players to expect a physical battle when they face Australia in Group F on Sunday.

The reigning world champions are highly fancied to defeat the Socceroos in Munich, despite a disappointing opening game in which they failed to impress in a 1-0 win against Croatia.

Parreira has called on his players to step up a gear against the Australians, but he is also well aware that the opposition will try and out-muscle them in an effort to clinch a shock victory.

Regardless of what tactics the Socceroos use, Parreira feels his players' abilities should be more than enough to seal another victory.

He said: "Australia are a very physical team but we are not going to fight with them. Our business is to play football, put the ball on the ground and impose our style and technique."

He added: "It's a decisive match because whoever wins will almost certainly qualify."

Despite a much-maligned poor performance against the Croatians, Real Madrid striker Ronaldo retains his place in the starting line-up alongside Inter Milan's Adriano for the game.
