Coach expains Ostlund omission
11/05/2006: Sweden coach Lars Lagerback has defended his decision to omit Southampton's Alexander Ostlund from the Sweden World Cup squad.
The 27-year-old right-back played a key role in his nation's successful qualifying campaign for Germany, starting eight out of 10 Group matches, but he has been left out of his country's provisional squad for next month's finals.
"It has been a turbulent year for him with changing clubs and then his time with Southampton has been inconsistent," Lagerback told TV4.
