Coach calls for more creation

18/06/2006: France coach Raymond Domenech has called on his players to be more creative as they bid to avoid an early World Cup exit on Sunday.

Les Bleus will go against South Korea in their second Group G encounter requiring a victory to boost their chances of progressing to the second round and also to avoid equalling Bolivia's current record of going five World Cup finals games without scoring.

The French crashed out of the 2002 finals without a win and a goal so are still searching for their first victory since the 3-0 success against Brazil in the 1998 final in Paris.

A lacklustre display in their 0-0 opening clash against Switzerland on Tuesday means the pressure is on to get their tournament on track in Leipzig on Sunday evening. Domenech has faith in his own tactics, but has placed the onus on his attacking stars to produce the goods.

He said: "We have to keep relying on that organisation we have, that's a basis, but at the same time we need to add some imagination to make life difficult for our opponents."

Midfielder Florent Malouda is expected to return to the starting XI, while Thierry Henry could be joined in attack with Louis Saha for the match.

There could also be an appearance by Vikash Dhorasoo.

Defender Lilian Thuram should be picked to match Marcel Desailly's national record by winning his 116th cap.
