Claudio Reyna
05/06/2006: The USA will be boosted by the news that arguably their most talented player will be fit to play in Germany.
Manchester City midfielder Claudio Reyna had feared that he would not have recovered from a shoulder injury.
The influential player also suffered a broken ankle at the end of 2005.
Now US coach Bruce Arena has said that Reyna would now be fit to meet the Czech Republic in the US's opening game at this summer's World Cup.
Reyna's ability to look comfortable on the ball and create space really sets him apart from other players in the US squad. He will want to play well after expectations for the US team have been boosted due to their success in the last World Cup in Japan and Korea.
Reyna has had a very successful career in domestic football, turning out for a number of top British teams, including Rangers. He has also played in Germany.
At 32, it will be his last World Cup, but he remains at the heart of the side.
