Canizares rejects Aragones fall out

12/06/2006: Spain goalkeeper Santiago Canizares has dismissed claims of a fall out with coach Luis Aragones.

Television pictures suggested the two men were involved in a heated argument which led people to believe that the two had fallen out.

The Valencia veteran lies behind both Iker Casillas and Jose Reina in the goalkeeping pecking order in the Spain squad but Canizares has dismissed any talk of an argument between himself and the coach.

"I want to clarify the conversation that I had with the trainer as it was completely friendly," Canizares told Valencia's website.

"We were talking about methods of work that I employ with my coach at Valencia, Emilio Alvarez.

"I would like to say that I and the other Valencia players in the World Cup squad have the utmost respect for Luis Aragones."

Spain will get their World Cup campaign underway on Wednesday when they take on debutants Ukraine in the opening game of Group H.
