Paraguay - Betting Preview

30/03/2006

Paraguay begin with their most difficult game against England in Frankfurt on Saturday June 10th. If anyone in the tournament is going to beat a possible brilliant Three Lions side then Albirroja have an excellent chance though the only real advantage they have is the fact it is the first game in the group. Although they have an improving team, they have too many European-based players who are not playing regularly for their club. The home based members of the squad will be hungry to prove themselves to earn themselves contracts from the same said clubs but overall they may not be strong enough to progress to the next stage. Their second game sees them face Sweden in Berlin and this could be their chance to sneak through. Beating Sweden and more feasibly Trinadad and Tobago in the final game in Kaiserslautern would see them through but whether they are organised enough to beat an experienced Sweden side with a frontline of Henrik Larrson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains to be seen. Defeat against the sole Scandanavian nation at World Cup 2006 will probably be the end of their dream.
