Beckenbauer slams quality
08/07/2006: Franz Beckenbauer has criticised the lack of attacking football and quality on show at the World Cup.
The president of the World Cup organising committee has been at virtually every game since the tournament began and does not appear to have been impressed with what he has seen.
Speaking to German sports agency SID, Beckenbauer said: "There were not many bad games at the final, but there were no real thrillers.
"If I had my way the teams that play one striker would not be allowed into the tournament."
