Bank offers cash for goals

21/05/2006: Angola's Banco Internacional de Credito will give 5000 US dollars to every Angola player who scores a competitive goal in Germany this summer.

The bank's president Fernando Teles revealed they would also give $5,000 to the best player in each of their games in the first round of the competition where they face Mexico, Portugal and Iran.

The Palancas Negras flew to Germany on Friday where they will be taking part in the famous tournament for the first time.

Thousands lined the streets of Luanda as the squad rode threw the city on a farewell parade.

The bank is also offering 5,000 US dollars for every win and 50,000 US dollars if the side makes it through to the next round.

The bookmakers and the exchanges currently offer Angola at long odds on to fall at the first hurdle.

Angola opening group game is against Portugal on June 11 in Cologne.
