Aragones stays on

30/06/2006: Luis Aragones has decided that he will accept the terms on offer from the Spanish FA to stay on as the coach of the national team.
The 67-year-old had been seriously considering his future with the national set up after Spain again crashed out of the World Cup despite promising to deliver so much more this time of asking.
The Spanish Football Federation (SFF) had made no secret of their desire to keep hold of the veteran tactician and Aragones has now agreed to extend his contract.
He has agreed a deal that will keep him at the helm until Euro 2008 and has stated he was very happy with the faith shown in him by the SFF.
He said: "The Spanish Football Federation were pleased with my work and this motivated me to extend my contract."
