Al Anbar out of Cup
14/06/2006: Saudi Arabia's World Cup 2006 quest has been dealt a blow after Mohammed Al Anbar suffered a serious ankle injury during a training session.
The 21-year-old striker, dubbed the 'Ronaldinho of Saudi Arabia', was practicing with the rest of the squad in their final training session, before their opener against Tunisia, when the injury occurred.
He suffered the injury after he twisted his ankle awkwardly and is suspected to have serious ligament damage. He was taken to a nearby hospital immediately for further examination and treatment, but it seems like his maiden World Cup campaign is over.
