Adriano
03/05/2006: Adriano Leite Ribeiro, mostly known simply as Adriano, is one of Brazil's most valuable goal scorers.
The player began his professional career in 1999, graduating from Flamengo's youth to professional squad that year. In his early years Adriano was a consistently high goal scorer, winning the FIFA U-17 World Championship and helping Brazil to the quarter finals of the FIFA World Youth Championship.
After Adriano was awarded the silver boot award for five goals during the competition, he was quickly noticed by international clubs. He appeared for Inter Milan in 2001, scoring against Real Madrid with a free kick on his first match.
Adriano's initial stay with Inter was brief, scoring only eight goals before heading for Fiorentina on loan in 2002. After notching up 15 for the side, he joined Parma AC for a two year tenure, scoring 37 goals with 15 with assistance from legendary Serie A striker Adrian Mutu. In 2004 Adriano returned to Inter, signing a four year deal.
But it is for his time at Brazil that Adriano is mostly known. The player scored five goals during the 2005 Confederations Cup, scoring two during the final against Argentina, resulting in a 4-1 defeat for the country.

25/06/2006: Hey, I'm a 100% Brazilian follower (although I'm South African girl) and I think Adriano is definitley gonna make it BIGGER than what he already is.He has an outstanding left & right foot, amazing agility and I think he's definitley on point! Don't fall asleep & forget this boy, he's gonna be big!!!

02/07/2006: I DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON IN THE BRAZILIAN CAMP BUT I DO KNOW THAT ADRIANO SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE STARTING LINE UP AND IF SUBSTITUTIONS WERE TO BE MADE, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BECAUSE HE WASN'T PERFORMING. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GO EASY ON ADRIANO AND THE REST OF THE BRAZILIANS BECAUSE STRESS CAN CAUSE A LOT OF THINGS. I HOPE BRAZIL APPRECIATE THEIR PLAYERS AS THEY THINK OF THEIR COUNTRY FIRST BEFORE THEMSELVES, I KNOW I WOULD BE AT THE AIRPORT WHEN THEY ARRIVE AND CHEER THEM ON FOR ACCEPTING A DEFEAT AS WINNERS SHOULD AND NOT CRYING AND NOT POINTING OUT EXACTLY HOW BAD THE REF AND FRANCES' ATTITUDE WAS LAST NIGHT-DISGUSTING.
