Joachim Löw talks fashion

England World Cup Blog

Written by Dave Allan Friday, 02 July 2010 09:25

It's not just this site that has noticed the strange clothes collection of Germany coach Jogi Löw and his sidekick Hans-Dieter Flick.

Cult Australian TV show Santo, Sam and Ed's Cup Fever present a nightly humerous look at events at the World Cup similar in style to Frank Skinner and David Baddiel's Fantasy Football League from the 1990 tournament.

He may have infuriated you with his stubborn nature, the 4-4-2 might not have been what you wanted to see, but Fabio Capello is still the man to lead England forward.

Tevez snubs a Maradona snog

England World Cup Blog

Written by Dave Allan Wednesday, 30 June 2010 15:29

As you can tell, with no World Cup matches on today, I've been trawling the internet looking some related content.

Now, I'm all for a bit tactility - if that's a real word - but Maradona has been overdoing the kissing it a bit at this World Cup and one man in particular - Carlos Tevez - is not so keen on all that man love.

Although the short clip below was before the South Korea game, I'm sure I saw Tevez snogging Maradona after scoring his wonder goal against Mexico. Double standards.

Good afternoon boys and girls. First of all, let me take this opportunity to apologise for my absence over the past couple of weeks. At the same time, let me assure you that yes I do realise that not one of you noticed I was missing.

England v Germany - The Benny Hill Remix

England World Cup Blog

Written by Dave Allan Tuesday, 29 June 2010 12:03

It's not only Joachim Löw we laugh at on the site we can also find time to laugh at our own misfortune as England fans with this fabulous reconstruction of England's 4-1 defeat to Germany set to the unforgiving tune of the Benny Hill show.

And Benny Hill stuff it was with England being throughly embarrassed and being left the laughing stock of Europe...apart from the French, the Italians, the Danes, the Swiss, the Slovenes, the Greeks and Serbians.

It's the simple things that amuse me....

If there is an ever article you don't want to write, or read for that matter, this is probably it. But it's time for the analysis of where it went wrong for England in South Africa, and more importantly where do we go from here?

A new Löw for Jogi - He nose what he's doing!

England World Cup Blog

Written by Dave Allan Monday, 28 June 2010 11:36

German coach can certainly pick a team. The jury is out on whether he can pick a decent wardrobe but one thing Joachim Löw can do is pick his nose and eat it.

Fair play to him as the match all but over as he fiddled with a troublesome bit of mucus on the bench. It's snot something I would on TV.

Did Capello pick the right players?

England World Cup Blog

Written by Tom Wakefield Monday, 28 June 2010 00:00

At this year's World Cup, there were some questionable decisions from England Manager Fabio Capello. Over the past four years, the spine of the team has been consisted of Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and John Terry and before the World Cup, it had been a success to progress through the qualifiers.

Capello bullies Pearce on the England bench

Love this video of Fabio Capello on the bench against Slovenia and all his reactions captured by an Italian TV station. It's even better the way he bullies and keeps shoving Stuart Pearce.

England World Cup shirts - Choose the best

For me it's the retro 1982 kit, for others of a certain age they want to wear the classic 1990 shirt when England only narrowly lost out to Germany on penalties others are after the new England Away shirt along with those daft red shorts.

Whatever you need you will find the full range on A2B  World Cup thanks to a deal with a leading manufacturer and some nifty behind the scenes work from the developers.

Why Germany are better at penalties than England - New Theory

England World Cup Blog

Written by Dave Allan Friday, 25 June 2010 20:42

One overlooked reason why Germany are better than England at penalties goes back to games young people played as children. One variation of our game in the park or street is called 3 Ecken, 1 Elfer! (Three Corners - One Penalty)

To buy one or not? The Vuvuzela debate

England World Cup Blog

Written by Dave Allan Thursday, 24 June 2010 14:46

Love them or hate them the vuvuzela will now forever be associated with the 2010 World Cup. During the first few days of the tournament, when the quality of football wasn't the best, it was the vuvuzela that often got more attention the actual football itself. Before the South Africa World Cup, many people didn't know what a vuvuzela was, now they are household word and everyone want to buy one.
