According to news reports over the past couple of days, the UK has donated a million quid to South Africa to buy condoms in a bid to combat HIV and Aids, as the African nation builds up for this summer's World Cup.
South Africa claims to need a billion johnnies this year as it anticipates extra demand from foreign football fans.
Now call me cynical, but doesn't that sound a little bit over the top?

"It matter more when there's money on it" goes a famous betting company slogan, suggesting watching live football can be enhanced by having a definite interest in the outcome.
Well, perhaps that is about to change thanks to the boys at Picklive Football who have invented a unique in-running fantasy football experience powered by some nifty flash programming.

The debate over who should partner Wayne Rooney up front this summer is as vocal as ever recently, with question marks being put above the names of Defoe, Crouch, Cole, and even Heskey. But for some reason unknown to me, one player is being overlooked, despite being the 2nd highest scoring Englishman (behind Rooney) in the Premiership this season.
In fact, in a comment on here a couple of days ago I put the suggestion out there, but had no response.
So I'll try again.
