After a convincing 3-0 victory against Chile, Brazil have pulled further ahead of the field in the betting market and are now a best priced 5/2 favourites to lift the cup on July 11.
With the quarter final line-up set to be completed on Tuesday when Spain play Portugal and Paraguay face Japan, the question is: Does 5/2 represent good value on them effectively winning their next three games?
Their first hurdle will be the Netherlands on Friday who have been effective if unspectacular in reaching the last eight. Should they overcome the Dutch, then Brazil will face the winners of the Uruguay v Ghana game in the semi final.
Argentina are next in the betting at a shade over 4/1 with their possible semi-final opponents Spain available at 5/1. Some may be tempted by the 8/1 available on Netherlands who price would shorten considerably should they battle past Brazil.
Germany are also trading at 8/1 with Uruguay the only other team less than 20/1.
