When is England's first game in the World Cup?

England World Cup Blog

England's first game in the World Cup 2010 takes place at 7:30pm UK time on Saturday June 12th against the USA.alt

The game will take place in a town called Rustenburg. Many people will not have heard of the sleepy town but will have heard of the famous Sun City which is situated just 30km away.

If your still with me, the stadium was opened in 1999 and has a distictive 'saddle' shape to it. It's official name is the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and it holds up to 42,000 spectators.

SPECIAL OFFER - MONEY BACK IF ROONEY SCORES FIRST OR LAST GOAL

You can see the stadium hosting a game in the video highlights below of Spain beating New Zealand 5-0 in the Confederations Cup in 2009 including a Fernando Torres first half hat-trick and a comedy fifth goal.

Remember, England first game against the United States kicks off at 7:30 pm UK time.

I think England has a good chance of beating the United States Because England has more experienced players and they have been playing soccer longer than the United States that why I think England has a good chance of beating them in the United States in the world cup 2010.smilies/smiley.gif

Rustenburg a Sleepy Coastal Town?
I sincerely hope that is your idea of humour. Rustenburg is 700km from the nearest salt water. And it's Sun City.

@Craig Sayers

Thanks for pointing that out. I have amended the text. I do like the sound of Sin City though!

Thanks for your comments Luis and Giovany. I think England will be too strong for the USA as wellsmilies/cheesy.gif

England win 2-0. America has possibly 3 players at most that might even contend for the England team. Tim Howard will have a busy game between the sticks. America are rightly the underdogs because their home nation league doesn't create the talent base they need and their presence in the better European leagues is sporadic at best.

I'm just hoping the Yanks don't bore us to death. They know a draw will be an excellent result for them. Expect a pretty stop start match.

England are gonna win. I went on World Cup predictor it says that England are gonna win the group stage and get to the semis but then they could struggle but they said they 'might' win!
