"It matter more when there's money on it" goes a famous betting company slogan, suggesting watching live football can be enhanced by having a definite interest in the outcome.
Well, perhaps that is about to change thanks to the boys at Picklive Football who have invented a unique in-running fantasy football experience powered by some nifty flash programming.
It is designed to be played by someone who has the TV on and has access to a computer.
I'll link to the site in a moment but the basic principal (if I have understood it correctly) is you choose three players and you score points for completed passes, assists and goals etc. Everything is updated in real time and you play against other users to create that competition element. You can play in ten minute segments or the whole game.
You can chat (abuse!) your opponents and set up mini-leagues.
A great idea? Yes, we think so and definitely a safer way to add extra enjoyment to a football match without having to risk a penny of your own money.
